Wild harvest by Yr.Farm

Wild harvest, what is it for Yr.Farm?
This is how it was done 10.000 years ago

Simply put, there are no farms, no plantations, no industry, just wild growing fruits, herbs and plants.
Wild harvesting, also known as foraging, is the intricate practice of harvesting plants from their natural and “wild” habitat. This applies to non-cultivated plants wherever they occur and is not necessarily limited to the wilderness. Yr.Farm ensures that our wild harvest is ethical and sustainable for all regions they come from. Once we harvest a region of fruit/herb or plant, we make this known to our ecosystem and ensure that the region still retains enough fruit to keep the biotope in balance..
This age-old process allows for a completely natural growth cycle starting over with the specific fruit, plant or herb harvested.

Cultivated.
Organic plants are not exposed to environmental stressors like wild harvested plants because they are grown in a commercially controlled environment. Because of this “controlled” protected environment, organic plants do not fully develop their nutrients and phytonutrients, which drastically reduces their flavor and nutritional value.

Wild harvest
Wild harvested plants are grown naturally, without any human intervention, and are therefore supported by compatible plants and ecosystems in soil teeming with abundant life and nutrients to support their growth and nutritional value. They are truly wild, native and organic by nature, and retain the positive qualities of plants grown in their natural habitat.

Understand the difference
Understanding the difference between wild harvested and organic ingredients can make shopping so much easier.
Organic: grown in commercial, uncontaminated soil that is not 100% free of pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides. Some organic certifications in the UK and EU allow a percentage (around 5%) of sprays on their crops with a specific crop rotation .
Wild Harvested: grown entirely in the wild, without any external support that is completely organic in its own, unsupported nature. Crops have higher nutrient content due to the stressful environment they must naturally adapt to.
